Hello Fellow Nevadans,
I am a Republican candidate running for Assembly District 8. I want to have the opportunity to give my experience and knowledge back to the community of Clark County, which I have come to know and love, for the past 23 years. I have proudly served in the United States military for ten years as well as in Law Enforcement for 6 years. In the past I worked in major casinos. I also ran my own business for six years.
As assemblyman there are many things that I aspire to do for this great community. If I get voted to represent you and your community, there are three issues which I will be most committed to. One of those three priorities is the economy and job sector. I believe that this community needs a representative who not only has the skill to be a leader but who can also work with others and listen to his/her opinions, to come up with the best solutions that will make a change. I plan to communicate and work with people who are as committed to this issue as much as I am in order to come up with changes that will help us get through this hard economic time. In order to decrease this crisis I plan to push for efforts for the funding of infrastructure. I believe that if we make more building programs and increase the funding for road building we will be able to create more jobs and decrease the unemployment rate that is hindering the success of our community.
Everyday crime and violence is increasing in our community and it is another issue that I am committed in changing. One of my greatest accomplishments is that for the past six years I have daily been helping to stop crime among our community. I have seen what crime and violence has done to our children, our progress, and to everyone in this community. This is why as assemblyman I will be most committed to enforcing programs that will educate our families and especially our kids about the dangers of violence and crime.
Our kids are truly the future of not only this community but of all America. Being parent of two wonderful children I know what a parent wants for his/her child and the education these days is not cutting it. The quality of our public schools have tremendously dropped in the past few years dropping the graduation rate to 47.3 %; making it the worst in the nation. If I get elected as assemblyman I plan to make sure that this concern is addressed in the next legislative session. We need to ensure that this concern is heard and that the money being spent in this sector is effectively and most importantly being beneficial to all of our students. Especially now with the budget cuts we need to make sure that every penny is effectively spent in the best teachers and the best tools that will teach and prepare our children for the work force. This needs to be done in order to increase the graduation rate.
